What to Expect

Physiotherapy begins with a one-on-one comprehensive external and internal assessment (60 minutes in duration), followed up with sessions based on a combination of education, pelvic floor muscle re-education and exercises, bladder and bowel retraining, lifestyle changes and self-care. Follow up assessments are 30 minutes in duration. An internal exam enables the pelvic floor muscles to be assessed and continues to be the gold standard for pelvic floor care for over 30 years. Treatment sessions might include the use of manual therapies, exercises, biofeedback, electrical muscle stimulation or postural education. Home programs are designed to complement direct treatment sessions and enhance program progression. Clients can expect privacy and sensitivity for all of their care.
