When you get injured in sports you can’t afford to take extra time off to recover. Sport Physiotherapy can help you recover from an injury as quickly and safely as possible so that you can return to the sport you love. Research has shown that a specific type of physiotherapy, called manual therapy, can reduce recovery time. Our specialized sport physiotherapy program is tailor made to each athlete, from recreational to competitive to professional.

We will work with you one on one to ensure that you get the individual attention necessary to aid in your recovery. Using the latest evidence based research and the most advanced hands on techniques, we will guide your recovery process every step of the way. In addition to the normal rehabilitation process, we also look closely at other smaller functional muscle groups, which are often neglected, even in elite athletes. By addressing these additional areas we not only help to improve the recovery time and reduce the risk of re-injury, but can also improve the athlete’s overall performance.

We follow the athlete at every step of the recovery process and customize a return to sport program to help the athlete safely return to their regular training regimen. We always ensure that the athlete is well educated about their injury and knows exactly what areas to continue to work on, in order to maintain their gains and minimize the risk of re-injury.

What to Expect

Physiotherapy begins with a comprehensive, one-on-one, sport specific assessment involving a physical exam and functional movement exam. A treatment plan is then created based on the problems identified and includes one-one-one treatment sessions that focus on education, manual therapy, therapeutic taping, electrotherapy, neuromuscular retraining and functional movement retraining. A sport specific home exercise program will be designed to compliment treatment sessions. Furthermore, a customized return to sport program will be designed to ensure a smooth transition back to your sport and training program.
